Harris Tweed

Harris Tweed is a world renowned fabric, with a heritage that is nothing short of iconic, in fact is the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament!

By law it is required that only 100% pure new wool be used in its production, this comes from herds on the Scottish mainland and island communities. This intricate cloth has been made for generations by the inhabitants of the Outer Hebrides and from start to finish that is still the case today, with the entire process taking place on the crofts, mills and looms of these remote islands by the traditional artisan methods.

Unlike many other fabrics the wool of Harris Tweed is dyed before being spun which allows a multitude of colours to be blended into the yarn. This creates the unparalleled depth that give this cloth its unique character and beauty.
